Dr. Brent Gordon (he/him), DVM
Dr. Brent Gordon is the Managing Veterinarian at Small Door’s McLean location. Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Dr. Gordon earned his undergraduate degree in Biology and Philosophy from the University of Maryland before completing his veterinary degree at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, he furthered his clinical training through an internship in internal medicine and surgery.Dr. Gordon practiced emergency medicine in North and South Carolina for several years before transitioning into urgent care and primary care. A leader in the field, he has served as a Hospital Director for the last four years and was a guest writer for a veterinary urgent care textbook. His clinical interests include internal medicine, preventative care, and senior pet wellness, with a strong focus on practicing low-stress handling.
Dr. Gordon is dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care and fostering a supportive environment for his team and patients alike. Outside of the clinic, he lives with his wife, also a veterinarian, and their three dogs and one cat. They share a passion for rescuing senior dogs and providing them with forever homes. In his free time, Dr. Gordon enjoys running, hiking, traveling, and spending time with his family.
