Small Door Veterinary and Bond Vet Are Joining Forces
We're coming together because we share a belief: veterinary care can work better, for pets, for the people who love them, and for the teams who deliver it. For now, nothing changes: same brands, same teams, same care you've always known. The answers below cover what to expect, and we'll keep you informed every step of the way.
No Action Needed
Keep visiting your current practice and care team as you always have.
Same Vet, Same Care
Your care team, appointments, and services stay exactly the same.
No Pricing Changes
Membership fees and cost of services remain unchanged at this time.
Your Pet's Care
Does this affect my pet's care right now?
No. There are no current changes to your pet's care, your veterinary team, or how you access services. Your experience continues exactly as normal.
Will I still see my same vet?
Your care team remains the same. If any practice-level changes occur in the future, we will support continuity of care wherever possible.
Are there any services that will be expanded or reduced?
There are no immediate changes to the services we offer. Over time, we hope this merger will allow us to expand access to care, strengthen our clinical offerings, and create an even better experience for pets and their families.
About the Merger
What is happening?
Small Door and Bond Vet are merging to form a combined veterinary network focused on improving the experience and quality of care for pets and their families. Both organizations share a commitment to high-quality medicine, strong client relationships, and a seamless experience across locations. By combining our complementary strengths, we can expand access to care and build a more connected veterinary network, one that's there for your pet at every stage of their life.
Do I need to do anything because of this merger?
No. You don't need to choose between providers, switch practices, or take any action. Continue accessing care as you normally do with your current practice and team.
Will Small Door and Bond Vet continue to operate as separate brands?
Yes. At this time, Small Door and Bond Vet will continue operating under their current brands. As the integration moves forward, both organizations will evaluate how best to structure the combined company over time.
Will this improve my experience in the future?
Yes. This combination formalizes what was already a shared mission across many of the same neighborhoods and communities: exceptional veterinary care that is personal, built on trust, and there when it matters most. The long-term goal is a more connected experience across routine, preventive, and urgent care, backed by greater reach, resources, and expertise with 170+ veterinarians across 55+ practices behind every visit.
Practices, Hours & Appointments
Will my practice stay open? Will any practices close?
Yes, all practices remain open. There are no planned Small Door practice closures as a result of this merger. If any changes are ever made, they will be communicated clearly in advance and managed carefully.
Will my upcoming appointments be affected?
No. All scheduled appointments, surgeries, and procedures will take place as planned.
Will hours of operation change?
As of today, no hours of operation are changing. If any future adjustments are made, we'll communicate them well in advance.
Will it be harder or easier to get appointments?
Our goal is to make it easier to access care. By bringing our teams together, we hope to expand appointment availability, provide greater flexibility across locations, and ensure pets can get the care they need when they need it.
Will I be able to visit both Small Door and Bond Vet locations?
For now, continue visiting your current practice as you normally would. One of the long-term goals of this merger is to expand access to care. Any future changes will be communicated well in advance.
Membership & Billing
Will my membership fees or other fees change?
There are no changes to pricing, membership fees, or cost of services at this time. If anything changes in the future, members will be notified in advance.
Are there any changes to membership terms or cancellation policies?
Current members will continue to receive care as usual. Standard terms and cancellation policies outlined in your membership agreement continue to apply, handled through the normal process.
Will this affect pet insurance claims or reimbursement?
No. This merger does not change how pet insurance claims or reimbursements are processed. Continue submitting claims as you normally would. If any billing processes change in the future, we'll provide clear instructions well in advance.
Website, App, Telehealth & Data
Will the Small Door website or app change?
No. You can continue using the Small Door website/app/chat exactly as you do today. If any updates are needed in the future, we'll provide instructions and support well in advance.
Will telehealth change?
No. Telehealth continues exactly as it does today. Members can keep reaching our care team 24/7 through the Small Door app, just as they always have.
What happens to my pet's medical records? Is my data safe?
Your pet's records remain secure and protected at all times under strict privacy and veterinary regulations. Any future changes to how records are shared would be implemented carefully and with appropriate notice.
